Sword Saint

A martial art practiced by those who follow The Way, focusing on perfect harmony with the moment and environment. Sword Saints fight with an almost supernatural grace, their movements guided by intuition and faith rather than pure technique.

Weapon Group: Swords (any)

Level 0 (Novice): Light as a Feather

When using this style, the Saint ignores all penalties from being outnumbered, surrounded, or fighting in difficult terrain or confined spaces.

When you are unencumbered by armor +2 to initiative.

Level 1 (Intermediate): One With the Way

When making an attack with a sword, may reroll the attack if the environment or circumstances are adverse (e.g., fighting blind, on a rope bridge, disarmed but improvising a weapon, etc.). The second roll stands.

Level 2 (Master): The Blade is Not the Sword

When using this style, may treat any mundane object as a sword for purposes of attacks (umbrella, cane, branch, broom), dealing d8 damage. You also add your skill to all damage rolls.

True mastery transcends the physical. The sword is not the weapon—the Saint is.
