The Ashen Knives were once a lean and battle-ready criminal organization. Now they’ve become a decadent syndicate focused on drugs, gambling, and pleasures of the flesh. Their headquarters occupies a former temple spire on Javon—a symbol of their transformation from warriors to hedonists.

They control the major vice operations across Javon’s cloud spires: drug distribution, gambling dens, pleasure houses, and protection rackets. Their position in the spires gives them control over key bridges and smuggling routes through the perpetual cloud cover.

The Knives have grown soft from easy profits, making them wealthy but potentially vulnerable to more disciplined rivals. Their occupation of the former temple offends the traditionally faithful, and their criminal enterprises bring them into regular conflict with the 5th Legion.
