Navigation

• Sidebar — Browse all books and chapters. Categories collapse/expand and remember their state across sessions. The active page auto-scrolls into view.
• Search — Press Ctrl+K or s to search across all content. Results highlight matching terms.
• Prev/Next — Navigate between chapters with links at the bottom of each page, or press j/k.
• Recently Viewed — Quick access to your last visited pages, shown at the bottom of the sidebar.
• Breadcrumbs — See your current location in the book hierarchy. Mobile shows a compact trail.

Ask the Archives

An AI agent that searches the SRD to answer your rules questions. Available on AD&D 2E pages.

• Open — Press Ctrl+Shift+K or click "Ask..." in the sidebar. A resizable panel opens on the right.
• How it works — Claude searches the indexed SRD content using semantic and keyword search, reads full pages when needed, then synthesizes an answer with source citations.
• Follow-up questions — Ask clarifications in the same conversation. The agent remembers the context of your exchange.
• Tool details — After each answer, click "Show details" to see which searches and page reads the agent performed.
• Conversation history — Click the clock icon to browse and restore past conversations. History is stored locally (up to 50 entries).
• Recall pill — When you close the sidebar with an answer showing, a small floating button appears so you can reopen it.
• Transparency — Answers sourced from the SRD show tool usage in the footer. If the agent answers from training data instead, a warning appears.

Rule Profiles

Switch between variant rule sets to see house rules alongside the base text.

• Profile Switcher — Select a profile from the dropdown in the sidebar (e.g., "Throne and Wheel"). Choose "Base Rules" to turn all overlays off.
• Overlays — When a profile is active, colored blocks appear inline showing how rules are modified: Replace swaps a base rule Add introduces a new rule Modify clarifies or tweaks Note adds commentary
• Show Original — On "Replace" overlays, click "Show original" to toggle the base rule text for comparison.
• Persistent — Your profile selection is saved across sessions.

Reading

• Collapsible Sections — Click any H2 heading to collapse/expand its section. State is remembered per page.
• Reading Mode — Press r to hide all navigation and focus on content. Press Esc to exit.
• Progress Bar — A thin bar at the top of the page shows your reading progress.
• Back to Top — A button appears in the bottom-right after scrolling down.
• Reading Time — An estimate appears at the top of each chapter.

Content

• Glossary Tooltips — Hover underlined terms on AD&D 2E pages to see definitions and links to relevant chapters.
• Link Previews — Hover any internal link to preview the target page.
• Heading Anchors — Hover any heading to reveal a link icon. Click to copy a direct URL to that section.
• Copy Buttons — Code blocks and stat blocks have a copy button that appears on hover.
• Table Scroll — Wide tables show a gradient fade indicating more content to scroll.

Customization

• Dark Mode — Toggle between light, dark, and auto (system preference) using the button in the bottom-right corner.
• Install as App — On supported browsers, install the SRD as a standalone app for quick access from your home screen.

Offline & Print

• Works Offline — After visiting a page, it's cached for offline reading. Pages update in the background when online.
• Print-Friendly — Press Ctrl+P to print any page. Navigation chrome is automatically hidden; active rule overlays are preserved.
